How To Find Positive Influence Music

As in my previous posts, I have discussed the influences that music has on people. I will tell you how to find music that is not depicting the way people act.

Many psychologists have found that music can help better your health. According to eMed Expert, it is musical tempo that helps people’s health rather than the type of music it is. They have found that classical music, celtic music, and even raga music all can be good for your heart and health.

Here are some ways to find music that is a positive influence.

  • You can even look up a songs lyrics to see what the song is really saying. Lyrics are often not paid attention to when someone is listening to a song because they like the beat more than anything. The lyrics of the songs is really what is corrupting the lives and having negative influences.
  • Another way is to limit the amount of music you listen too. If you are constantly surrounding yourself to music and you have no way of controlling the time spent, it can also affect your behavior.
  • Look for songs that are happy and uplifting...not down and depressing. If you listen to a happy or uplifting song you will be in a better mood than if you listen to a sad and depressing song.

Please take some of the helpful ideas and put them to use and make the behavior of people better.

Impact of Music

As the percentage of teenage pregnancy and the use of drugs/alcohol in teens continue to accumulate, the more people are believing that the music teens listen to is the biggest influence on the actions of the teenagers is music.

According to msnbc.com, Songs depicting men as “sex-driven studs,” women as sex objects and with explicit references to sex acts are more likely to trigger early sexual behavior than those where sexual references are more veiled and relationships appear more committed, the study found. Teens who said they listened to lots of music with degrading sexual messages were almost twice as likely to start having intercourse or other sexual activities within the following two years as were teens who listened to little or no sexually degrading music.
I chose this quote because it proves how music can control a persons behavior.

Most of the time, teenagers will listen to profane music because they like the beat without really listening to the lyrics therefore they are exposing themselves to negativity without even realizing it.

Music is not as innocent as it seems to be. Parents often wonder where they went wrong when their son or daughter gets into some serious trouble such as teen pregnancy or get arrested for underage drinking and drug use however they don’t realize they allowed their teens to listen to negative music.

Information on Music

Music and Emotions
Music can influence a person through any kind of emotion whether it is violent or encouraging or some other feeling. Our society is so corrupted by the things we allow ourselves to be exposed to but yet no one finds anything wrong with it. Majority of the “popular” songs that people listen to today are mainly about sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, and money but because we are too caught up into the beat or rhythm of the song we don’t take the time to listen to the lyrics and see what we are exposing ourselves too.

Government Uses Music

The United States government has been using heavy metal rock music as a way to interrogate prisoners in Iraq and possibly other countries. Many of us would see heavy metal rock music as just another type of music that people like to listen too however our government uses it as interrogation.. This is a prime example of how music can influence people. Our government doesn’t realize that what they are doing is crucial.

Negative Influences Through Music

As innocent people to the music world that we are exposing ourselves to, we are increasing our behavior to act more violently and sexually as well amplifying our chances to try the things that the music is referring to such as drugs and alcohol. WND.com, statistics have shown that 51 percent of students that listened to sexual influenced music became sexually engaged sooner than the 29 percent that did not listen to this kind of music. With the way the world revolves around music there is more likely going to increase in negative behavior among individuals as the songs we listen to become more influential with sex, drug use/abuse, alcohol use/abuse, and violence.

About the Blog

This is a blog that will become very entertaining to anyone who loves music. There is a variety of types of music and there are many different meanings. No one will have the same meaning for a song as someone else.

This is all opinion based and will hopefully help people understand the world of music. I love music and just being able to listen to it every day makes my day better. Many times I find that the “mood” of the music often manipulates a person’s feelings. How many times have you ever been in a sad and depressed mood and then one of your favorite songs come on the radio and you begin to get happy and forget why you were mad in the first place?

This is how I came to find the title of my blog Music Speaks Out because of the way music can affect a person.

Many of the readers will learn how to find a way to listen to songs that are uplifting and encouraging.

The  picture below represents that no matter how old and cracked or decayed the world becomes, music will continue live on and never die down. Regardless of how old the world grows, music will continue to evolve and affect the lives of the listeners each day.
